digital pen to use WiFi technology and cloud services. Livescribe announced that they are conducting in-depth pilot programs with several school districts and higher education institutions across the country to evaluate use cases and better understand the impact of the Sky wifi smartpen among students, teachers, parents and administrators.
The results of the pilot program will be available next year when Livescribe officially launches the Sky wifi smartpen for the education market in early 2013.
The Sky wifi smartpen digitally captures everything you hear, write, or draw on paper and allows educators, students and parents to tap on the ink to hear the lecture play back from that exact moment. Students to listen to a teacher’s lesson as many times as they need to and educators can record pencasts and post them online.
Livescribe’s education blog explained, “Sky automatically and wirelessly sends information, along with any synced audio, to Evernote. From their personal Evernote accounts, teachers and students have immediate access to play back, review, search, organize, and share notes from their computers, tablets, smartphones, or the web, so notes and other materials are available any time, anywhere.”
You can keep following Livescribe’s blog for future updates on the pilot programs, and to learn more about how students can create digital portfolios with the Sky wifi smartpen and Evernote.
