Who says you can be too cool for school? With so many awesome gadgets emerging in the education space, back-to-school gear is becoming a lot trendier. Last week, CNET How To, the outlet’s web channel for videos sharing tech tips and tricks, posted a how-to video on taking better notes with a Livescribe Echo smartpen. Livescribe, a TriplePoint client, creates smartpens that record everything you write and hear while taking notes in class. The smartpen allows you to take traditional handwritten notes on a special notebook and captures a digital copy of everything you write. After class, you can tap on your notes and the audio will play back, or, you can plug in the pen to your computer and watch a pencast, an interactive document that shows the digital version of your notes and audio come to life in real time, so you can see and hear notes exactly how they were captured.
Check out the how-to video, embedded below, in which Sharon Vaknin of CNET demonstrates the ways the smartpen can help you take great notes in class. Vaknin also offers tips and tricks for new users, including how to upload notes taken from the pen to Evernote. Read CNET’s corresponding article here.
