Cornell is now accepting applications for their first ever NYC Tech camus. The first class will kick off in January 2013. The class will be small, capped at twenty students.
The campus is going to be on Roosevelt Island but construction won’t be complete for another five years. In the meantime, students will take classes at Google’s offices in Chelsea.
Today Crain’s reported that the inaugural “beta” class will apply for a one-year/two-semester Master of Engineering degree in computer sciences. The deadline to apply is October 1st.
Mayor Bloomberg announced Cornell was selected to build the tech campus on Roosevelt Island after Stanford dropped out of the race last December. The new tech campus is hoping to solidify New York as a key hub for tech innovation, drawing more talent to the city.
