50 Apps for Lifelong Learners

Last week, Edudemic and their content partner Online College Courses published a list of the 50 best educational iOS apps for lifelong learners to download. For those of us who are finished with school and but aren’t ready to stop learning, these apps quench the eternal student’s thirst for knowledge. Highlights are listed below; take a look at the full list of apps here.

  • WORLD BOOK: This Day in History for iPad – An interactive multimedia calendar that displays historical events for the current day or any selected day.
  • Chronicle for iPad: A Personal Journal – Users can capture ideas, stories, and life events in a single digital notebook.
  • Instapaper – This app allows users to save blogs, articles, and other websites for offline reading, optimized for readability on a touch screen.

  • Guinness World Records: At Your Fingertips – Read the book? Now, with this companion app, go deeper into a selection of classic records so you can try to break one yourself.
  • 2012 World Factbook - This app gives users the complete CIA World Factbook at their fingertips, including information on more than 250 countries and locations around the world.
  • Star Walk – Star Walk is a stellar augmented reality app that labels all the stars, constellations, and satellites you point your iPhone at.
  • MathStudio – Whether you need a a simple calculator to do your finances or a replacement for your TI graphing calculator, MathStudio is the most powerful and versatile calculator available on the app store.
  • Mythbusters HD - Users can watch the most popular full screen video clips and compete against other fans by busting three popular myths through full screen, multilevel casual games.
