We saw KQED’s MindShift tweet about how AT&T is diving into the education app realm and had to share the news!
AT&T plans to develop apps to improve education and is also hosting a hackathon in June to seek out the best apps. CNET notes that AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson is personally dedicated to the cause to improve education and now AT&T is putting money behind it – $250 million over the next 5 years to be exact.
CNET also shared a statement from Stephenson on AT&T’s investments in education:
“AT&T Aspire works toward an America where every student graduates high school equipped with the knowledge and skills to strengthen the nation’s workforce.”
Looking forward to seeing their efforts unfold over the next few years!
